How to address criterion 1.2.2 in the context of time-variable media:
- If a video has audio, you must add captions!
- If the video has a text alternative nearby, you don’t have to add captions (this is an exception);
- We can add additional content to the captions if it helps better understanding for the audience, for example:
“[Orchestral Suite No. 3.2 in D major, BWV 1068, Air]
[Johann Sebastian Bach, Composer]
♪ Calm piece with a slow tempo ♪” - Caption language versions – as always, a plus (you reach a wider audience).
